About Senator Garcia
I was born in Nogales, Sonora. At age 9 my mother, who was born in Miami, AZ, moved us to Nogales, AZ and later to Phoenix. After graduating from Phoenix Union H.S., I moved to Tucson with my wife Maria, received a Bachelor's from the UofA, and raised my three kids. I earned a Master's in Social Work from ASU. Currently, I serve on the Board of Pima Prevention Partnership (Teen Court). I am also a Board Member and patient at El Rio Health Center.
From '92-'96 I served as a State Representative and have spent the last two years as your State Senator, working on issues that affect our community. You can view more info on my work in the Senate on the Arizona State Legistlature Web site.
