I live in the high desert region of Arizona, in an area known as the Verde Valley; not too far from Sedona, Cornville, and Cottonwood. Before you drag out that old Atlas to see where those big burgs are located, let me help by telling you that I actually live in Camp Verde, which is about 80 miles north of Phoenix right off of Interstate 17 as you travel toward Flagstaff. My corner of the desert isn't as hot as Phoenix in the summer nor as cold as Flagstaff in the winter - it has a nice year 'round climate that is just right for me!
Arizona is a beautiful place, and I love to roam around during my free time taking pictures of animals, people, and places. I even write a little about my travels, so expect to see travel articles on this site as time goes by.
Photography has always been my love. From the first time I played in my uncles' darkroom when I was about 4 or 5 years old, the Norns had set my life path. How magical it was for me to watch images appear out of nowhere on the photographic paper I was "souping"! Photography and darkroom processing have always been an Alchemy to me, a way to create "Magic" by having images appear out of the clear waters of a mystic sea, which was stored in brown bottles neatly labeled for correct order. Taking a picture was a way to capture in a small black box a moment in time -- a moment that lasts forever. How thrilling a thought that is to me even today! I've always had a black and white darkroom in every one of my homes just to keep the magic alive for me!
