VISIONS is an organization which that plans summer programs for high school students abroad.
About Our Locations
The program's locations range from Alaska to the Caribbean, Central and South America to Vietnam. The sites were chosen with the intent to plan volunteer projects together with local partners and return to program locations seasonally. VISIONS Framework
Program Details - Since 1989 VISIONS has set the standard for community service abroad for high school students. VISIONS summer volunteer program for high school students combine ambitious service, cultural immersion & exploration. The duration of the community service and close camaraderie within a culture outside their own harmonize and creates a substance that drives you to use your optimum potential as you and your peers work toward common goals together.

IMy summer was unimaginable… I tried things I never imagined. I got over fears and gained greater insight into myself. I never imagined being able to help build a house or make a fence... So many opportunities were given…eating fresh pineapple with Michael, listening to his histories of the island, and picking ginnups at his farm; scuba diving; mixing concrete for a fence at a national park; night hikes; learning to use a jigsaw; sailing; meeting Carol; getting smoothies from Kareem and making juice with Zulu; eating fresh star fruit from the tree in Mr. Smith’s yard…the list goes on and on. When I heard about VISIONS, I scoured the website and testimonials, but nothing I read compared to my experience.

VISIONS is essentially an experience that awakens participants to different ways of living, other cultures, traditions and histories. We hope kids return home with a real sense of the place they've lived for a month and also, hopefully, a greater curiosity, maybe even a few lingering questions.
