Description
Much of my recent work is based on the thought processes and timeless ideals of the human spiritual experience... how we view ourselves and the world around us... what seems to be important and what is mirage. What is momentary and what transcends time. It's about the past and its inevitable connection to the future. Nothing is purely by chance. Nothing is without consequence. It suggests a reality deeply longed for by the human spirit - a true Utopia.
Rather than using contemporary images, I bring the past into the future in an attempt to convey this timelessness together with a perception of that deeper reality which is within us all. Hopefully, the transition brings us closer, for just a moment, to that elusive goal. In the clamour of life we too often ignore introspection, though without it, life is nothing but clamour.
I have worked in many media, including pen and ink, oil, watercolor, colored pencil and others. Most recently I am concentrating on oils. I do not hold to a single “style” of art, such as Surrealism, Photo Realism, or Impressionism; all of which, and more, I have used. The progression of my own journey as an artist has brought me to a unique place, which I hope you will enjoy.
