Georgetown Visitation
Description
Welcome from the President
Welcome to the Georgetown Visitation website! As you move through our site, we hope you will catch a bit of that unique spirit which has characterized our school community since its founding in 1799. Each generation of Visitation students has contributed to the school’s history by introducing many loved traditions. These traditions have enriched our school life and made it a happy place in which to study, grow in faith, succeed in athletic arenas, perform on stage, write for prize winning publications, engage in service to the community and form life-long friendships.
The spirit of Georgetown Visitation flows from Salesian spirituality, the spirituality of the founders of the Visitation order, St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal. This spirit, marked by gentleness, kindness, optimism and thoughtful concern for others, permeates our school community as all strive to do their part in building a strong faith-filled community which is sensitive to the needs of the people of our time and place.
Sister Mary Berchmans Hannan
"...gentleness, kindness, optimism and thoughtful concern for others, permeates our school community as all strive to do their part in building a strong faith-filled community."
