Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, Virtual Reach was founded in 2004 with the objective to create compelling and useful solutions for the wireless telephony industry. Company founders Tas Tsonis, Brian Goldberg and Jay Steele are all experienced veterans of the software industry, having spearheaded wireless upstart Plazmic Inc. which was sold in 2001 to BlackBerry® developer and manufacturer, Research in Motion (you can read their full professional biographies in the Management Team section).
Virtual Reach recognized early that one of the biggest opportunities in the wireless industry was enabling compelling content to be available and accessible, and, most importantly; fun and easy to use. Wireless mobile devices have the ability to fill an important role in our lives, whether it’s populating those five or ten minute moments of “downtime” when you're waiting for a bus or at the dentists' office or when you need that stock quote asap. Wireless handsets and PDA’s can be productive, educational or just fun. For that to be true, however, a lot of pieces have to fall into place: quality content has to exist, the technologies designed to retrieve content have to be smart and effective, and the experience must be enjoyable.
