Title
Virtual-Rail.co.uk | Welcome To Virtual Rail
Description
Virtual Rail was established in late 2003 to provide Microsoft Train Simulator fans with reviews on which routes are worth what and just to generally try to encourage more rail fans into the ever expanding MSTS community. The reviews that are currently on the site will lead you to a variety of MSTS routes that are available, both freeware and commercial. I hope to expand the reviews section for many UK products and possibly, in the future, some continental lines. The reviews section will be updated every now and again and you will eventually see train packs, as well as routes.
You will also notice a different rail simulator, BVE Trainsim. This is my old favourite before returning to MSTS and I still get enjoyment out of it. It is far from MSTS with the main exception of being free. You can only view the routes and trains from the cab but you can find a utility from the official website which was made for developers but now many other people use it, including myself. It allows you to view the scenery for screenshots. The simulator is downloadable and is totally free, including all the additions. There are hundreds of routes and roughly 100 UK routes, with more appearing every now and again. The routes that are available are stunning, some even more well made than some MSTS routes. The passing traffic, however, is static but when you are racing up the West Coast Mainline or concentrating on the New Street points, you won't notice it. My first website was 'BVEDepot.co.uk' which was dedicated to BVE.
Another simulator is the Kuju Rail Simulator program which is currently in production. I have been asked by the team to publish their newsletters. I will update the section with even more information once it is confirmed.
