Description
Consuma was founded in 1975 with a main focus on food ingredients for the bakery industry. At that time Consuma was part of DP&S, another member of the Verstegen Holding. Because of an increasing interest from the market in value added products, Consuma was rejuveniled in 1999 and Verstegen International became the owner. Consuma started trading in processed products, such as ground and heat-treated herbs, spices and other food ingredients. Meanwhile, Verstegen International continued the trade in unprocessed products.
As per 01.01.2004 the two companies act as one under the name of Consuma Food Ingredients. Consuma Food Ingredients is a member of the Verstegen Holding and trades in processed and unprocessed spices, herbs, seeds, dried fruit & vegetables and additives.
The Verstegen Holding is an over 100 years old Dutch family owned business, displaying a vast experience in food ingredients and additives. The Verstegen Holding consists of several companies.
