Wind Currents Technology (a d.b.a. identity) was formed in 1997 specifically to establish a distribution network for video phone, video conferencing and video surveillance technologies globally, and it is a sub-set of Wind Currents, Inc. a company formed in 1993 and incorporated in 2000. Based in Woodstock, New York, Wind Currents is owned and operated by three partners: John P. Monahan, Michel Washington McLaughlin, and Stephanye Boyd Monahan. McLaughlin operates a small satellite office in Los Angeles.
WCT has undertaken intensive research and market development for the video phone niche industry, through extensive informational and marketing outreach to equipment providers, distributors, value-added resellers (VARs), and professional end users. The company has tested various market methodologies, including pricing strategies, and has participated in several pilot programs, including the Department of Veterans Affairs.
In preparation for its next growth phase, WCT is accelerating development of a network of American and international distributors, value-add resellers (VARs) and independent sales representatives (ISRs) for a range of video phone, video conferencing and video surveillance products. This work is undertaken with the active philosophy of creativity, flexibility and integrity.
