- Air Group 31 (VF-31 and VT-31) served aboard the aircraft carriers USS Cabot (CVL-28) and USS Belleau Wood (CVL-24) from 1943 through 1945. In that time they downed 165 enemy aircraft in air to air combat and produced 15 aces. They also sank 26 enemy ships and damaged another 22 enemy ships, totaling over 150,000 tons. This web site is dedicated to these Naval Aviators who served our country, to show their accomplishments, and to honor them and their deeds.
