The Vauxhall Advance is a community newspaper published every Thursday by the Alberta Newspaper Group. Besides The Vauxhall Advance, this group includes four other community newspapers in Southern Alberta, the Taber Times, The Sunny South News, the Bow Island County Commentator and the Lethbridge Sun Times; two daily newspapers, the Lethbridge Herald and the Medicine Hat News and a specialty farm publication, the Prairie Post.
The Advance strives to present an accurate and interesting reflection of communities affairs and a forum for public opinion. Market surveys have shown high readership levels as local residents tend to take an avid interest in the affairs of the communities which the paper serves.
George Meyer and Walter Koyanagi, former owners of the Taber Times. Since then it has changed hands five times and is now a part of the Alberta Newspaper Group.
