Description
A two-person team will begin building the VancouverTech portal, using what we've learned from the PortlandTech process. While article creation will be part of this task, the task primarily for the first part of the iteration will be identifying WikiPages that fit into this portal and tagging them accordingly.
Why?
Start creating a new "Built on Spec" portal for the Vancouver Technology community to rally around.
Done When
Steps to creating the portal:
- Build a Seed List -- Identify companies, media and groups that would fit in the VancouverTech portal, using categories and intersects.
- Start tagging those WikiPages accordingly:
- Category:VancouverTech
- Category:VancouverTechInProgress
- etc, just like we did with PortlandTech
- Build out a project status page, similar to what was done with PortlandTech
- Start working on articles, again using the process/steps/tools we developed for PortlandTech

Building a Seed List
In order to "seed" the portal, we need to create a starter list of articles that likely fall into the VancouverTech sphere. This is done via intersect commands on the VancouverTech/Seeding page. Please fill this with a variety of intersects:

(NOTE: These categories take the place of the of the Category tagging we were doing before, by doing the "Subst" on one file, it adds all the necessary categories for that particular intersect.):
