- Mountain Village Chalets is nestled on 20 acres in the heart of Hickory Nut Gorge and is centrally located to all points of interest in Western North Carolina. In 1971 the first Chalet was built and completed, but we didn't stop there. We wanted to build more. With hopes and dreams, as well as a lot of hard work and dedication, our dreams came true in 1997. We had successfully built three chalets, eight cabins, three suites, and three hotel units. What we had set out to do had been accomplished. We now have a warm and inviting place for families on vacation, family reunions, or weary travelers looking for a place to rest over night.
