About UpoA.org
The Utah Peace Officers Association was established in 1922 under the name, "Utah State Division of the International Association for Identification." The first president was Richard Wootton. Between 1928 and 1930, the name was changed to the Utah Peace Officers Association, and the five-pointed star exhibiting crossed pistols in the center was adopted as our logo. That was changed to the current logo in 1968. Our logo and name were copyrighted in 1982.
