Description: Make necessary changes to employee manual to ensure compliance and clarity. Integrate Lahore.
Why?
Business Reason: Being in compliance with our employee manual ensures that employees have reasonable communication regarding expectations.
Done When
- Integrate Pakistan & US... detail where there are differences.
- From Mohsen: We need to incorporate official holidays (Federal Government declared) of Pakistan, list of annual official holidays is attached. We also need to incorporate Gratuity under Employment Benefits. It is mandatory for organizations like us to give/offer either gratuity or provident fund to its full time employees. Most of the companies offer gratuity to its employees because it is easy to handle. You can see the detail in Employee Handbook of Mentor Graphics on page 19.
I think other policies can be implemented and same as we have here. One more thing at the end, our working hours are 9am to 6pm with one hour lunch break.
15 official holidays for Pakistan
- If we have a progressive discipline plan, we must detail it in the manual.
- make sure to state that "This handbook is not an employment contract"
- lists of reasons for firing: be sure to include that the list "is not inclusive".
- The Hartford Life and Disability policies will terminate on the date of termination. The medical, dental and vision will terminate on the last day of the month in which they terminated. I am still waiting to hear from Sunlife on the Voluntary Life policy.
