Up The Arse!
Description
Up The Arse! Arsenal's Premier Spurs Bashing Fanzine
This is a satirical fanzine. The paper edition started in October 1992 and the web site was set up in January 1996.
Additional Information
Up The Arse! started as leftover bits from the The Gooner's North Bank Times and two spoof fanzines "One-Nil Down, Three One Down" and "The Goner".
Successes over the years:
- A celebrated run in with Hewlett Packard's lawyers.
- The editor having a go at Spurs web sites on the BBC's "Big Byte".
- Successfully surviving the bad taste cover of issue 9 written by the Highbury High's Tony Madden.
- Avoiding arrest when a Policeman objected to the editor shouting out "Up The Arse, Only 50p".
- Outing Kate Hoey as a Cockney Red.
- Dodging the threat issued in front of several Police Officers by Alan Esparza of the "Arsenal Action Group" (sic) to burn the editor's house down over an article in issue 36.
- Getting put on the banned email list of the FA Premier League's weasel lawyers.
However, the Up the Arse! web site is probably most well known for the Spurs Clock, remorselessly counting the days, hours, minutes and seconds since they last won the league.
