Uttaranchal Forest Development Corporation
Description
The Uttaranchal Forest Development Corporation came into being with the promul- gation of an ordinance by the Uttaranchal Governor, His Excellency Sardar Surjit Singh Barnala, on March 3, 2001.
Earlier, the UP Forest Corporation was functioning in its place as an inter-state corporation, as an interim arrangement following the creation of the new state of Uttaranchal on November 9, 2000.
Later, the Uttaranchal Assembly passed the Uttaranchal Forest Corporation Bill, which has taken the place of the Ordinance. The Corporation came into existence from April 1, 2001.
