Description
E stablished in October 1998, it builds on the work of the Dennis Wolanski Library of the Performing Arts, operated by the Sydney Opera House Trust from 1973 to 1997. The principal sponsors of the library were Sydney businessman and sculptor, Dennis Wolanski (1917-1992) and his son, Phillip.
F ollowing the closure of the library and the dispersal of its collections to organisations in New South Wales and interstate, Phillip Wolanski and the library's Manager, Paul Bentley, explored options for continuing the family's involvement in the performing arts. The Foundation's mission, goals, programs and interests are derived from Acting on a New Stage, a report on the management of performing arts information resources in New South Wales.
