Description
TBC (as we are known) originally began in May of 1985. We were incorporated in the state of Virginia and we were mostly involved in commercial building in Virginia, D.C., and Maryland. In the commercial phase we did everything from clothing boutiques, to offices, to highly sensitive rooms for government contractors, to construction on malls. In the residential phase we did everything from simple remodeling to major additions.
During this first ten years we worked for many homeowners and many major companies such as Sverdrup, System Planning Corporation, SRA, National Association of Broadcasting, etc. Every project we did was always built with steel, and during this ten year period we had employed as few as four people (in the begining), to as many as thirty-three people. This was quite a growing period for us.
In January of 1995 we decided to start a new venture with 100% concentration on residential building with steel. Thus the change from mainly commercial to total residential was easy for us considering our background with steel construction. In February 1995 we became incorporated in South Carolina as Tumminello Builders Co., Inc. (as you can see we still used the TBC initials) and built our first total steel house in Horry County, South Carolina, subdivision of Bellacroft.
