Description
Truro Hospital Radio began life on the 2nd July1980 with a grant from Truro Lions Club. The studios were originally located between the lifts on the 4th Floor of the Tower Block, Royal Cornwall Hospital moving approximately 15 years ago to one of the Accommodation buildings where we can still be found.
We currently broadcast via a cable network and can be heard by tuning the bedside receiver unit to Channel 1 or 2.
THR is undergoing an exciting programme of improvement and refurbishment. In May 2002 we launched 24 Hour broadcasting aided by a computerised playout system, a product called Autoplus purchased from Westcountry Broadcast 2001, so even when our studio is un-manned you can still tune in to our service. To add to this, a busy schedule of outside broadcasts, social functions and fundraising events, it's easy to see why our membership is increasing fast.
