Welcome to my web site! My name is Vicki Sanders. I graduated from the University of Louisville in 1982 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. In 1988, I became a certified childbirth educator through the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA). I have maintained certification and I am a member in good standing with ICEA. In July 1996, I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). In 2003, I completed the Doulas of North America (Dona), Doula Certification. I have taught in a variety of settings including hospital, home, and church. I have attended births since 1987, as a Doula, at hospitals in Louisville, Lexington, Shelbyville, Northern Kentucky, and Jeffersonville, Indiana.
I also provide childbirth and lactation training for other healthcare professionals. Through continuing education, I keep up-to-date with current changes, and I am prepared to address a variety of needs for the birthing family.
My personal experience of childbirth has been very positive. I have given birth to three children, and breastfed all of them. In November 1989, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and it is a blessing to be able to combine my faith and my profession.
