About Us
True Wheels is a non-profit bicycle team dedicated to raising funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Mid Atlantic Chapter. We do it through our love of cycling. Our main event is the MS150: a wonderful 150-mile ride to Myrtle Beach at the end of every September. This year (2006), the ride dates are 9-16 and 9-17. Most of our members live in Charlotte-Mecklenburg and surrounding North Carolina counties.
The MS 150 Bike Tour Breakaway to the Beach is the largest charity cycling event in the southeast. Each year, more than 2,000 cyclists embark on a 150-mile journey to raise money and awareness of the fight against MS. Proceeds from the MS 150 Bike Tour help the Mid Atlantic Chapter fund research and provide local programs for the more than 6,000 people who live in our area with Multiple Sclerosis and their families.
We encourage all True Wheels riders to reach “Top Banana” pledge status. Top Bananas raise at least $750.00 in donations from friends, family or businesses.
