- Ai no Kusabi (Wedge of Interval) is an anime originally based on the novel of the same name by Rieko Yoshihara, which then was produced into a radio drama prior to being issued as an anime. The tale itself is quite exquisite, and very human, I found. It chronicles a relationship destined to fail - if not by society, then by the acts of the players involved, of which there are many. Law and order govern societies of people, yet it matters little when it comes to the heart. Sometimes it seems the consequences of a risk were the only way victory could have been achieved. Fate, it seems, can be both ironic and tragic. This story is one that requires some knowledge before it can fully tasted, although the majority of the background provided in the beginning of the fansub I saw was adequate enough for me to understand the why of what was occurring. To the end, this anime has captured me in a way that I dare say hasn't been rivaled since Spring and Chaos. Please allow me to tempt you with the world of Ai no Kusabi, and hopefully you will seek it out. Its beauty is a flavor that's best tasted after seeing this incredible anime.
