TROPICAL TADEUSZ OGRODNIK
Description
The Tropical company was established in 1977 by Andrzej Ogrodnik, and was at first located in one small room. The company's widely known logo was designed at the same time. Production started with only 6, and later 12, employees and in co-operation with the company owner's brother, Tadeusz Ogrodnik. The first range of products manufactured by the company were aquarium preparations whose effectiveness was tested in a small number of company tanks. Gradually the company started to enter the Polish market, which was very poor in aquarium products in those days, and widened its product range. Soon Tropical foods were available in most Polish pet shops.
In the 1980s Krzysztof Dudzinski joined the founders of the enterprise, and in 1983 a new production facility was completed and modern flake food production technology introduced in the new building. Meeting the highest standards of quality and technology in pet food and health-care product manufacture became one of the most important goals of the company, and remains so today. For this reason the experimental fish-house and laboratory in the original facility have been upgraded. Thanks to the researches carried out there, the range of products has been widened, and this has in turn significantly increased the scale of production. Simultaneously efforts have been made to develop export sales.
In 2000 a third production facility was started, in which a major part of the company's activities are concentrated today. Here a new department has been created for the production of veterinary pharmaceuticals, including medications subject to Ministry of Agriculture certification. The premises, which occupy 6,500 m², encompass production halls, technical back-up, administration, and stock.
