About Trade Tested Trade Tested has grown to be New Zealand’s top online, outdoor hardware shop. 100% locally owned and operated, we started in 2001 importing to a small garage in central Auckland, selling on what was a little site called Trade Me.
As New Zealanders got more used to buying things online, we got more used to selling them. We expanded our product range and found a niche that the Trade Tested team was passionate about - outdoor hardware. So, after several years of being one of the the most popular businesses on Trade Me, we decided to start a website. Just for us.
After a few sleepless nights and lots of coffee, TradeTested.co.nz launched on the 10th of July, 2010. Our goal - give Kiwis the best deal on everything for their backyards. As we don’t have a chain of giant shops, or a million staff, our prices can’t be beaten.
So far it’s turned out pretty sweet, last year alone we are proud to have delivered to over 50,000 satisfied customers. This many happy people would have been impossible to achieve without our team of outdoor lifestyle gurus led by Terry, our resident MacGyver (but from Torbay).
