Description
The magic is in the fiber. In the early 1990's, a strong man-made fiber consisting of polyester and nylon was manufactured in Japan and imported to Sweden. Each fiber was slit to produce what is called "microfiber." These tiny fibers are invisible to the naked eye, but so numerous that they drastically increase the surface area of the material (see close-up on right).
When these microfibers are woven together into the "miracle" cloth, they are able to accumulate and absorb more particles of dirt and bacteria than any other fabric known. Each cloth consists of tens of thousands of tiny storage compartments. This enables the user to continue cleaning for extended periods of time before washing the cloth clean.
Studies at several Swedish hospitals confirm that microfiber removes not only visible dirt, but bacteria on cleaned surfaces as well. Hospitals throughout Sweden are now using cloths and mops made of microfiber.
