Started by Jim Fryer in 1990, Fryer's Site Guide was modeled after Jim's previous employer's publication, Black's Office Leasing Guide. Published by McGraw-Hill, Black's Guide (still published nationwide) is a directory of commercial real estate properties used by the brokerage community for leasing available office space. As the boom real estate market of the 80's waned, Jim teamed with partner Robert Schwaninger, noted Washington DC telecommunications attorney, to produce a similar directory serving an under-informed tower and site leasing industry. Fryer's Site Guide's four regional directories now list over 200,000 tower and rooftop sites nationwide...far and away the largest collection of sites in the country covering not just the large site management and acquisition firms but the vast (and largely unreachable) market of "mom 'n pop's" as well.
