Description
The Torbay Civic Society is a registered Charity and an affiliated member of the national Civic Trust movement. There are approximately 900 Civic Society's in the U.K. We were fortunate in 2002 to win second place in that years Civic Trust- "National Civic Society Membership Drive Award scheme".
The Torbay Civic Society committee comprises six volunteer activists and a number of special volunteer advisors. The main committee meets monthly usually at the home of one of the committee. The only funding we receive to cover our events, printing and mailing etc, comes from subscriptions received from our members or from raffles and fund raising events that we hold from time to time.
The Society has produced a wealth of literature and other items over the years, some being available at local libraries, museums and Torbay tourism centres. For more information on these go to - Items we sell.
