I was born in 1972 in Bolton, Lancashire, and live there still with my wife and young family. I work in Warrington as a computer programmer. I have got two lines of Tonge ancestry, both from Bolton, for both of which the trail goes cold in the mid-1700's. Progress on these lines has proved difficult and slow for the last seven or eight years, and I have found myself becoming increasingly interested in other branches around the UK, and trying to locate the origin of the name (if indeed one single source exists).
