Toby Barrett, M.P.P. - Welcome
Description
Mr. Barrett was first elected to the Ontario Legislature in June 1995, was re-elected in June 1999 and elected again in the 2003 provincial election as MPP for the riding of Haldimand-Norfolk-Brant. Also in June 1999, Premier Mike Harris appointed Mr. Barrett as the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of the Environment. Toby Barrett was appointed Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Natural Resources in February 2001. In the spring of 2002, Premier Ernie Eves appointed Mr. Barrett Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture. Most recently, Mr. Barrett was appointed to the position of Environment Critic, as well as a member of the Finance and Economic Affairs Committee.
Mr. Barrett has a Masters of Science degree from the Ontario Agricultural College and a degree in Economics from the University of Guelph.
A former teacher of high school Agriculture and Environmental Science, he is a partner in his family farm near Port Dover and for 20 years worked for the Ontario Addiction Research Foundation.
