- Timmreck & McNicol Jewelers has been a Yamhill County institution for over 66 years. Alex Timmreck started as a watchmaker in Forest Gove in 1937. He started his own store “Alex Timmreck Jewelers” in Sheridan in 1939. After marrying Claribel Hussman in 1940, they purchased a store in Forest Grove in 1944. In 1946, Bob McNicol, just out the Navy with a Chemical Engineering degree, began to work with them. Soon after, Bob and his wife Ruth (Claribel’s niece) joined in a partnership that was to prosper 54 years until 1999, when they closed the Forest Grove store.
