Mikey's Day is a "Community Coming Together" fund raising event scheduled for July 15, 2007, at Lafreniere Park, from 12pm-7pm. It's an event in support of and for the educational trust fund for young Mikey Owens. Mikey (13) was recently opphaned by a house fire in Old Jefferson that not only claimed his family home, but more important, his entire immediate family, Mom, Dad, and Sister. Mikey is a student at St. Francis School in Metairie and is currently living with his Grandmother. His next closest relative is an aunt living in Texas.
