Our professional staff and clinic serves the needs of people who suffer from chronic tinnitus ( a sensation of sound that is heard inside the head, i.e. a high pitched ringing that is purely subjective ) and hyperacusis (unusual intolerance to every day sounds). We offer a complex evaluation for a variety of auditory system defects and disorders, and are adding new techniques, particularly testing for hyperacusis.
Marsha Johnson, M.S., C.C.C.-A., FAAAattended the 2nd Tinnitus Retraining Therapy Course with Dr. Pawel Jastreboff in Baltimore, Maryland, in May 1997 when she became a member of Dr. Jastreboff's Tinnitus Retraining Therapy Association (TRTA).
Since that time, she has attended update courses on TRT, learned new applications, and participated in clinical research projects, as well as stepping forward strongly into clinical use of the therapy for hyperacusis.
