If you smoke, or light fires, or whatever, you need a cigarette lighter. You know the old routine, you have a lighter, you don't remember exactly where you got it, but you have it in your pocket and you use it all the time. Eventually, you lose your lighter, or it dies or something and you need a new one, so you go buy one. Ever wonder what ever happened to your old one?
Lighters change hands all the time, every day. You loan your lighter to someone, you leave it somewhere, whatever. At the same time, you find a lighter somewhere, someone loans you one, gives you one, whatever.
Soon, you will be able to put a number on your lighter, and track it wherever it goes, as well as see who had the lighter you currently have before you got it.
Here's how it works:
Take a lighter, either one you have or buy a new one. You come onto this site, put in some info about yourself, and get a number assigned to you. You write this number onto the lighter in perminant ink, as well as thislighter.com
After that, everyone who gets that lighter from this point on will see thislighter.com written on the lighter and will most likely try it out to see what it is. When they come to this site, they'll be asked for the number on the lighter. After this, they'll be able to see who had it last.
Each person to get the lighter will be able to put their own info in for it, and see a timeline of that lighter's life, as well as read and comments or stories about that lighter.
It's gonna take a lot more work, but work is under way, I'm going to try hard to have the site. I have a lot of other stuff going on so I don't know exactly when it will be operational. A basic page is currently available at thislighter.com it shows a rough idea of what the site might look like.
It'll look a lot nicer too, that's just one more thing I have to figure out, I'm just working on getting the site to work before I go playing with the eye candy.
