was built on the site of a former lumberyard in downtown Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Opening in November of 1995 with Mighty Aphrodite, the theater was off to a great start. The Triplex was the brainchild of local businessman Richard Stanley and architect Joe Wasserman. Their combined vision saw a need in Southern Berkshire County for both additional screens and an opportunity to show a wider variety of great films. The Triplex's three theaters offer patrons a comfortable, relaxed venue to watch critically acclaimed independent films as well as blockbuster hits from major studios.
