Ken & Michele Hoff have been creating & producing one of a kind works of art for over 15 years. The latter of those years, utilizing antique tin ceiling tiles.
All of the tin is painstakingly hand-salvaged, piece by piece out of old buildings from the Eastern United States. Each ceiling carries it's own history, Lincoln, NB 1924, Camden, ME 1912, New Paltz, NY 1910, Midtown Manhattan 1920, Dickson, TN 1907. etc... The tiles range in size from 12" X 24" to 6' X 12' and any size in between.
The Tin Man hand wraps each panel and there is a collaboration of colorization & tinting. All the tiles are hand hammered, folded, & colored utilizing several different mediums. Each ceiling has a unique quality all its own. No two pieces can ever be the same. "New" or "reproduction" tin is never used in any of the pieces. All of these tin tiles are 50 to 150 years old.
