The Snark Pit was started when the official "E Online" message boards imposed limits on critical discussion of The Girls Next Door, a reality show carried by the E Network. The Snark Pit had a broad celebrity gossip focus, but many of its early members were primarily interested in The Girls Next Door.
Unfortunately, at times, it became emblematic of many types of bad behavior that can happen on the internet, with many hurt feelings and unacceptable actions on the part of members and various administrations. On the whole, those involved learned from their mistakes. Today, the Snark Pit domain is currently out of existence, with many of the members posting peacefully and quietly at various online sites. If you were a victim at one point or another, we apologize and hope you, too, have been able to move past this.
