What is The Reading Lounge?
The Reading Lounge is an online reading group. Before we created The Reading Lounge, we understood how it can feel to read a great book but not have anyone to share it with. Members of The Reading Lounge can participate in book discussions with readers from all over the country without ever leaving the comfort of their own computer desk chair.
How is The Reading Lounge different from other book clubs?
The Reading Lounge is a book discussion group for people who don't have time to discuss books. We use a message board style forum in all of our book clubs. There are no chat rooms, and you never have to be logged on to the site at a certain time. Simply post responses to discussion topics at your leisure. You can be as active or inactive in the club as you wish.
How does it work?
Moderators select books to discuss on the site. These books are listed as Featured Clubs (for books that are currently being discussed) or Upcoming Clubs (for books that will be discussed in the future). Members of The Reading Lounge then have the opportunity to join a club - or several clubs. The moderator of each club will post assignments and discussion topics, and the club members can respond to the discussion topics - as well as to the responses of other members.
