Title

The Priest Hole Eating House - restaurant Ambleside the Lake District, Cumbria

Description

Gary and Shirley Mickelfield took over what was then Lynchristies in April 2001 and with some trepidation completely changed the menu and style to it's present, mediterranean and English menu. The aim was to reproduce the style of the restaurants we all love so much on holiday, laid back, friendly and relaxed, where you can eat anything from a bowl of pasta and a beer to a three course meal with a good quality wine.

We have been staggered by the response of both the people of Ambleside and the holidaymakers who have been returning again and again. Making reservations essential for fridays, saturdays and school holidays.

The food is all home-cooked with many dishes of our own design, some traditional and some borrowed. We use the best produce, where possible sourced locally with no GM foods, tins or packets. Our treacle bread is world famous and our sticky toffee pudding is earning a reputation as possibly the best in Cumbria.
