- Welcome! My name is Frank and I started The Lighthouse in August of 2006. We are a small family owned and run business that grew out of my hobby of candle-making. That started because of my love for and fascination with candles was driving me to the poorhouse! It was so expensive I started making my own to save money. I gave them away as gifts and soon I was making them for people so they could give them away as gifts and so on. By the time I started selling them at farmers markets I had added aromatic oils and incense, and that’s when things took off.
