- When I was around 10, I witnessed an event that, little did I realize, would alter my life. My grandfather had decided to cease raising cattle, in order to devote more time to his kennel operation. A man from Oklahoma, had traveled to our farm to inspect and possibly purchase the cattle. And there it was; the strangest looking dog I had ever seen in my short life. Before that day, if someone had told me thay had a "blue dog", I would have probably laughed out loud. Not only did he look strange, but he acted strange. He actually did what he was told to do (you won't find many bird dogs that do that, I assure you). But what he did to those cows, absolutely amazed me. This strange dog made the cows go where the man wanted them to go. Never before had I seen, or even heard of such a thing. I was HOOKED!!!!!!!
