About The Blue Box
Back in the 1970s, The Blue family owned the local newsagents in the seaside town of Busselton, located on the shores of Geographe Bay in Western Australia.
Miss Muriel Blue, with her passion for craft, used to sell wool and embroidery from a little corner of the family store. The demand was high, so in 1978 she opened The Blue Box, down the road from the family store.
It became a popular icon of the town, meeting the needs of craft minded women from Busselton and the surrounding South West region. After Miss Blue retired the store remained popular, always mindful of her original dream of making sure people in her town had access to the supplies they needed for their crafts.
