Peter Danford began developing The China Guide in the year 2000 while living in Shanghai. With a sales office and staff in Beijing, Peter offers services including online hotel advertising, commercial photography and 360-degree virtual tour photography and integration.

Peter Danford has a BA in Computer Science from Macalester College and an MA in East Asian Studies / Chinese Language from the University of Minnesota. Peter worked for Xerox in the USA as a programmer and later technical manager. He also worked for Sun Microsystems in Australia as a computer programmer and the Web Connection in Hong Kong as Multimedia Director.

He has been wielding a camera since an early age and spent several years shooting travel material professionally in Asia. Works include contributions to Odyssey Guidebooks (Angkor Wat, Shanghai, Vietnam), Kummery & Frey (Nepal, Hong Kong, Japan), Time and Newsweek magazines and other journals and books.
