- The Back Door Pizza opened its doors in October 1978. Two of the original owners were Peter Seras and his daughter, Barbara Jean. Together they combined efforts to focus on pizzas, grinders, and submarine sandwiches with take out and delivery service. Some of these items still remain on the menu today. Barbara continued with her law practice during the day, while making pizza at night. She took sole ownership in 1980 and continued to expand the menu to include Calzones, Strombolis, Greek Salads and Specialty Pizzas.
