The 'Jehan and Perrine Terriot Family' website is the bilingual flagship website of the Terriot Acadian Family Society. It presents the history and genealogy of the Terriot's of North America who are descendants of Jehan and Perrine Terriot. The spelling variations for this family name include Terriot, Terriau, Theriault, Therriault, Thériault, Theriot, Thériot, Thariot and others. The website includes an archive of the genealogy of about 10,000 members of the family which it continues to develop and expand. Also included in the website are the following: history of the Terriot family from 1601 to 1760's, including the details of the migration of the branches of the family afterward; sections which include Acadian and Cajun foods and recipes, Acadian, Cajun and French-Canadian music, a blog which allows the members of the Society to exchange news and other sections which focus on the DNA and genetic research for the family. The Terriot Acadian Family Society (Société de la famille acadienne Terriot) was founded in 1999 by Joseph Ralph T. Theriault of Harvard, MA as a private foundation to consolidate the genealogy of the descendants of Jehan and Perrine Terriot and to form a family organization of delegates who each represent their respective 'Great-Branch'. The current membership includes about 85 delegates.
