I started thinking about alternative toys and activities for kids when my family was relocating out of the country. I had to sort out six years, two children, and three homes’ worth of stuff, and, as anyone who has moved anywhere knows, this is a daunting task. What bothered me the most was the huge amount of toys and junk my five-year-old and three-year-old daughters accumulated over their teensy lives.
