- The purpose of the South Carolina Salute to Manufacturing event is threefold: (1) To recognize outstanding manufacturers in the state; (2) To increase understanding and appreciation of how manufacturing is linked to every sector of our economy and its correlation to the creation of wealth, living standard and job creation; and (3) To challenge conventional wisdom about manufacturing among young people, encouage students to recognize the role of manufaxturing in local communities and to develop career interest in engineering and technology.
