- ) was conceived in October 1996 while three teardrop owners were having dinner. We wanted to get together with other teardrop owners to exchange ideas, compare construction and decorating ideas, and swap stories about our travel adventures in the teardrop trailers. It was also important to have a Teardrop Gathering (a meeting or assembly sharing a common interest) with the teardrops as the main focal point; not a car or truck show with trailers tagging along. There were several things we did not want. There would be no official meetings, no by-laws, and no dues; only a name to refer to when talking about the group or for correspondence.
