Mr. Larry Lucas has lifetime of martial arts training. It began at the young age of 3. He has studied several Martial Arts disciplines, Taekwondo, Judo, Hapikido, Shorin Ryu Karate, and Filipino Escrima. He has also training and competed in Golden Gloves Junior Division Boxing. Mr. Lucas is married and has 2 sons.
Martial Arts Training and Coaching Certification
Mr. Lucas still occasionally competes at local, national and international competitions but competition is no longer his main interest in the sport. He has redirected his focus to teaching and coaching. He has been coaching and teaching Martial Arts since 1990. He has trained and coached numerous individuals to State and National Championships. An all around athlete, he has gained invaluable experience in Physical Conditioning, Body Mechanics and Nutrition and has attained a Level 3 Coaching Certification from the United States Taekwondo Union. This is a very difficult certification to attain because it covers a very wide spectrum of requirements. The areas that this certification encompasses include;
Martial Arts Techniques (basic combination techniques, check motions, advanced steps, lateral movements, fast kick, roundhouse kicks, double kicks, cut kicks, trap front and back kicks )
