TAXATION CONSULTANTS' ASSOCIATION, SANGLI Although Taxation Consultants’ Association, Sangli was formally registered in 1982, the organization of tax consultants was active since 1964, when the purchasing commission agents were forced to pay heavy taxes and penalties for wrong use of forms under BST Act 1959. The Association approached higher authorities and was successful in getting relief. In March 1978, Taxation Consultants Association organized the first grand seminar in this moffusil area, on “ Tax Planning through private trusts” and “Clubbing provisions under Income Tax Act”. In view of increasing demand for seminars and conferences, a need of own liabrary and a meeting hall was felt. In 1982 consultants and members of the trade & industry contributed whole heartedly towards funds for Associations’ building. In 1987 the premises of the Association was inaugurated by the then Commissioner of Income Tax Shri. C.V. Gupte.
